OK, I’m gonna be honest here, like the rest of you aren’t. My favorite part of Christmas is receiving gifts. Yup. I love opening gifts! I’m not into this mawkish gifting to others.
Yesterday I got that beautiful home-made cowl scarf from the Bon. Today I got a memo pad from Cheryl that says: I Do Not Suffer from Insanity – I Enjoy Every Minute of It! - is that so me or what?! I feed off my insanity, indeed. The part I love most out of this gift is Cheryl saw it and thought immediately of me. And that extra pain in the arse of mailing it to me. I know that pain in the arse. I also received Italian (home-made, of course) cookies from Marty’s cousin for us all.
Then I also received from Libbylicious ( of course all these things have special meaning):

1) A book bag that contained the following: 2) A spiral-bound book that has two pictures on it, the cover is one of my all-time favorites, a picture of me and Libbylicious wiped out flat with our Segways on top of us on the sidewalks of Philadelphia. 3) A memo pad that says: “I will not be able to participate in life today – Thank You.” (That’s a little too real). 4) The book, Scarface. This is because Libbylicious had to pal around with me in NYC when my pre-cancerous skin cancer topical medicine kicked in and my whole face was a scab. She called me Scarface all weekend to make me feel more….comfortable with it all. 5) Cocktail napkins that say: Merry Freakin’ Christmas – speaks for itself. 6) A key-chain flask – speaks for itself. It’s good for one shot of something.
She really does love me. The book bag has a quote by Louisa May Alcott, “She is too fond of books, and it has turned her brain.” She texts me almost everyday to say I am either pretty or that I am smart. That’s a good friend, you know. More than my own fam does for me. Hmpf.
Love you gift givers! Keep them comin’.
Little Miss Sunshine.
P.S.:
For instance, I would have preferred a coupon or a promo code from my favorite NYC hotel. I make my own donations….
