I walked into my annual kidney sonogram and doctor appointment with high hopes of getting an “all clear” from him. After all, I went a whole a year since my last stone, which I passed the pieces of after lithotripsy. I’ve had no pain for this year, and I’ve been drinking my water. I have not, however, been avoiding the foods/drinks he told me to avoid because I don’t remember which ones he told me to avoid.
I do remember asking him if I should just drink vodka, starting at 7 am each day since he was adding more restrictions to my already restricted migraine diet. (He said “no”.)
So I was telling him about how I was feeling better than I have for a while, physically, not mentally (!), when he sort of interrupted me with an “umm, that’s great, but you have a small kidney stone in your left kidney.”
NO. COME ON. So since it’s small, and it’s not bothering me, I shall let it gather moss until it needs to be blasted or I pass it. Either way, I’ll get some Lortab for it. Ugh.
